Plexus Ambassadors everywhere were gathered around their computers for what Plexus was affectionately calling “The Big Reveal.” Little tidbits had been circulating that this was going to be just that—big. That seasoned Ambassadors had been brought to tears over this reveal when they were told of it earlier. Guesses were being made. And yet none of us could have known just how big this reveal was truly going to be—for none of us could have imagined Plexus Slim, our favorite weight-management, body-balancing, fat-fighting, amazing pink drink, getting any better. And yet—it was revealed that it was. And I’m writing today to tell you that it is!
Most of you know that in addition to being a healthy recipe creator, blogger, productivity teacher (i.e. efficient expert wanna-be!), tutor, and curriculum author of over one hundred books, I am also a hope dealer—bringing happiness and health to people as a Gold Ambassador with Plexus Worldwide.
I have never spent money on my health—unless you count prescriptions for monthly cycle issues, leg and feet problems, sleep and restlessness situations, and heartburn type of symptoms. Never. I bought alfalfa a little bit to try to tone my skin as I lost weight several years ago…but I have never spent money on my health.
So I get it. I understand fully why people think supplements are just an extra expense that they don’t need to buy.
But now that I’m on the other side—investing in my health every month through Plexus products, no longer taking anything else ever, exercising four to six times a week (through T-Tapp, walking, Aqua aerobics, and ballroom dancing)—everything feels different.
I had always heard so many terrible things about sugar. You know them. Sugar spikes blood sugar and causes Type 2 Diabetes. It causes you to crave more and more unhealthy foods. It “feeds” cancer. It causes obesity. It is as addictive as this drug or that drug. And on and on.
But nothing deterred me. I just couldn’t do it. I tried the “normal” tips—switch to honey (still the blood sugar spikes and calories); eat fruit instead; just go cold turkey; eat peanut butter or apples or sugar-free candy (aspartame and sucralose!) instead; cut fat not sugar (i.e. low fat angel food cake or graham crackers or Weight Watchers cookies, etc.); drink Diet pop in place of the sugary treat; eat more protein; just cut portions; etc. etc. etc.
But I still ate like a ten year old and craved sugars and starches all the time. I couldn’t just eat two cookies. I always ended up eating six or eight. I couldn’t bypass my favorite donut shop. I couldn’t skip the candy at the gas station. Sugar was controlling me! (more…)
